Stevie Nicks, the iconic voice of Fleetwood Mac, paid a heartfelt tribute to her late friend and bandmate Christine McVie on what would have been McVie’s 81st birthday. McVie, known for her timeless contributions to Fleetwood Mac’s legacy, passed away in November 2022 after a brief illness.

To commemorate this special day, Nicks invited Harry Styles, a close friend and collaborator, to join her on stage during her performance at Hyde Park in London. Together, they delivered a moving rendition of Fleetwood Mac classics, including the poignant “Landslide” and the electrifying “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around.”

A poignant moment captured in a widely shared video on social media shows Nicks addressing the audience with heartfelt words: “What I want you to know is Christine was Harry’s girl, she was my girl, she was your girl.” Expressing her emotional journey since McVie’s passing, Nicks shared, “It’s taken me all this time to try and be able to deal with this situation.”

Nicks reflected on her coping mechanism, sharing a poignant memory from her childhood: “One thing my mom used to say to me when I was little was when I was hurt, she’d go, ‘Stevie when you’re hurt, you always run to the stage.’ That’s what I’ve been doing ever since Chris passed away – is running to the stage.”

Acknowledging the healing power of music and the support of her fans, Nicks expressed gratitude: “The only people that have been able to help me to get over this has been all of you.”
